Carbs are life – garlic is life. This is both in one beautiful loaf of succulent bread. If you aren’t a fan of garlic, then this is not the bread for you… move along.
The original recipe called for garlic powder – and I made it that way. Don’t get me wrong, it was delicious. But my girlfriends and I unanimously agreed that fresh minced garlic would improve this garlic bread by blows and stretches. If you don’t have fresh on hand, then replace the fresh in the recipe with 1/2 tablespoon of garlic powder and make a mental note to try it again with fresh garlic next time you eat anything. No, really.
Yields 6 servings
1 Loaf bread, French
1 Cup butter, salted softened
3/4 Cups cheese, parmesan, grated
6 Cloves garlic, fresh minced
1 Tbls parsley, flat-leaf chopped
1/4 tsp pepper, black, ground
1/8 tsp salt, Kosher
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Cut the loaf of bread in half lengthwise.
In a medium bowl, combine the remaining ingredients. Beat until fluffy.
Spread on the bread. Cover with foil.
Bake covered for 10 minutes. Uncovered, leaving on top of the foil and bake an additional 5 minutes until bread is golden brown.
You may need to turn the broiler on and broil for 1 minute to achieve proper level of browning.
